COFICERT embodies a new generation of certifiers

By incorporating a robust digital component into its certification model, particularly through the issuance of electronic certificates of conformity that are traceable and tamper-proof, using FinTech solutions and Blockchain technologies, COFICERT embodies a new generation of certifiers.

COFICERT’s activities are marked by an increased consideration of contemporary challenges and issues, aligning with the growing expectations of markets and the demands of authorities.

COFICERT is, on a global scale, the first certification body specializing in financial and non-financial certifications. This specialization meets a growing international demand, driven by the evolving obligations of companies and the increasing complexity inherent in current issues. In a context of globalization and a constant pursuit of differentiation, it has become essential to better understand and assess the commitment of economic and financial actors through common standards. COFICERT thus plays a key role in implementing best governance practices by emphasizing the transparency, resilience, and integrity of economic operators.

Context

The increasing number of economic and financial actors at the international level, which has led to a global context of interdependence and the widespread rise of systemic risks, compels public authorities to organize themselves. At the same time, the continual crises occurring in close succession contribute to uncertainty and may encourage abuses, prompting governments to exercise greater vigilance and oversight. This oversight is reflected in the strengthening of the enforcement of existing regulations by the competent authorities as well as by international observers.

In this context, the responsibilities fall on companies, which have seen their obligations evolve significantly.

As such, the need for clearer understanding and better assessment of these companies’ involvement, based on common international standards, has become essential. Whether voluntary, guided, or required, the demand for and reliance on certifications is experiencing strong growth.

Framework

In accordance with the current international regulations on management system certifications, a certificate of conformity is issued if the conclusions of a Main Assessment clearly demonstrate, with reasoned and justified arguments, compliance with a set of listed requirements.

The certificate remains valid for 3 years from the date of issuance, provided continuous compliance is maintained. This certificate reflects the compliance of an evolving system at a given point in time. As such, the certified entity is required to undergo follow-up assessments at least annually to ensure it continues to meet the standard’s requirements.

The evaluation process is conducted in accordance with the standard ISO 17021, which sets the guidelines to be followed in terms of assessment and evaluation, particularly regarding:

Competence

through the use of expert and qualified resources
Icon

Independence

through the use of resources independent of the entity being evaluated

Consistency

through the implementation of recognized assessment techniques

Impartiality

by adhering to the principles of neutrality, fairness, and objectivity

Cadre
